Deprogramming Al Gore's Cult

Good news on the myth-debunking front: I invite you to clear away an hour or so, sit down and watch as the BBC calmly inserts a pin into Gore's "Global Warming" bubble:
"The Great Global Warming Swindle", originally aired on BBC4 in Britain. It's available at around 20 bucks and runs just over an hour.
To say that "Swindle" demolishes Gore's entire retro-collectivist "global warming" construct is a vast understatement. As a lifelong opponent of radical environmentalism, it's orders of magnitude more devastating to the Gore worldview than even I'd expected. This is way, way beyond "must-see" material. Bookmark it, link it, viral-video it, send it to your elected officials and demand that they watch and respond to it.

I had a veritable side-by-side comparison because I finally sat down the other night and watched Gore's propaganda flick, "All About Me" ...er, "AnInconvenientTruth"[sic] - because it finally showed up on cable and I was getting the channel anyway.
I had to shake my head in amazement like I did when the Oscar results were posted on the Web - which in turn was two weeks after learning about the Grammy fiasco - the...Absolute Pinnacle Of American Musical Art for the year 2006 (see Feb 15 post, "Cultural Dry Rot," below.)
I was expecting something hard-hitting, overwhelming and persuasive enough to at least raise a doubt among us heretics, and...that was it?
Poor Al is still fuming about losing the Y2K election to Bush, and to dramatize "How...Really...Great...I...Am," he presents a 90-minute exercise in yawn farming, which thousands have inexplicably mistaken as a definitive manifesto for climate-science-as-retro-Marxism.
I was expecting reams of factual data - on a par with Michael Crichton's 2004 novel "State of Fear" - instead I saw a series of technically-slick but vague graphs presented by Gore the apparently-uncredited Climate Scientist, posing and preening for the cameras like a political Gilderoy Lockhart, with the phrase "Dig virtuous Me" fairly oozing from between every line of script.
His graphs were the simple x-y-axis type with arbitrary gradations set up to expand every blip to mountain size - with Albert actually climbing onto a hydraulic scaffold alongside for dramatic effect, (scratch Gilderoy Lockhart - the man is Max Quordlepleen in the flesh,) and nary a source cited. In other words: A snazzy display, to be taken on faith as "the truth." His commentary was designed with a tone simplistic enough to accomodate the scores of puBlik Skuel kids who will be force-fed this rot, so we don't get much in the way of details or specifics.
The end result was an intensely tepid, mind-numbing sermon to a studio of Believers, festooned with the latest audio-visual enhancements Evil Greedy Industry could be shaken down for, interspersed with film vignettes about Al's Charming Life and some incredibly condescending tutorials for us uninformed plebes.
Once more with feeling:
They gave an award to that?!?
...Along with this year's Grammy fiasco, two vivid indicators that the insular clique encompassing two major entertainment organizations will prostitute anything to the cause of hardcore leftwing activism. Oh well, two nights I didn't have to lose to the tube - thanks, guys.
Take an hour and watch "Swindle," compare it to Al's sermon, and pass the link on. Those who swallowed "AConvenientExcuse" uncritically are in need of deprogramming, and Durkin's film exposes Gore and the entire "Global Warming" industry as a vicious, anti-human fraud. I cannot recommend it highly enough, nor the need to publicize it as quickly and broadly as possible.
