The Objective Eye

"Every movement that seeks to enslave a country, every dictatorship or potential dictatorship, needs some minority group as a scapegoat which it can blame for the nation's troubles and use as a justification of its own demand for dictatorial powers. In Soviet Russia, the scapegoat was the bourgeoisie; in Nazi Germany, it was the Jewish people; in America, it is the businessmen."
- Ayn Rand, "America's Persecuted Minority: Big Business" (1961)

Activism Alert! Sign the NRSC No-Support Pledge!

Now Playing: "The Return of Per Ulv" - Rypdal / Vitous / Gurtu Trio, via the "Live in Stuttgart" DVD (Terje Rypdal - the guy looks like he could be your plumber or your realtor, but plays guitar like he's been on extended sabbatical in a different galaxy...)

Weekend homework for those who still value the survival of America, Western Civilization, their own lives - sign the NRSC Pledge:

TheNRSCPledge.com

....and get as many people on your mailing lists as you can to do the same.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is the GOP organization that's set itself up as the premiere group responsible for getting Republicans elected to the Senate; what you are pledging is to withdraw any and all financial donations to the future campaigns of any RINO who joins the Democrat-Socialists in the current "We'd like the Islamo-fascist world to know that we're surrendering" resolutions slithering through the Senate - any of them. There's one authored by Biden, one by Traitor McCain, one by Warner, etc. ad nauseam.

You can read the full dope on the Pledge, the Demo-Soc surrender resolutions, the RINOs who have already lined up to cave in on it, what it is they're selling out for, etc., at talk radio host Hugh Hewitt's site:

HughHewitt.com

Hugh Hewitt is a religious conservative but no more so than Rush Limbaugh and with a significant advantage over others: Hewitt is not afraid of focused and sustained activism.

If you can get people in different states across the country to sign it, so much the better - after you sign you have the option of registering your location (by Zip Code only,) and list yourself, your blog/website, etc. The signatories appear on a U.S. map that lists the number per State - which will undoubtedly be seen by the Spineless Ones at the NRSC and within Congress. (The new NRSC Chairman, Sen. John Ensign of Nevada, is already groveling before the Demo-Socialist Party's surrender brigade - he definitely needs to hear from all of us.)

Spread the word - blog it, email it, do that word-of-mouth thing, whatever - then get the telephones and inboxes of GOP weasel-waffler-RINOs burning with traffic.

One can question Bush's strategy of a troop increase (or "surge,") but Senate members' proper avenue for expressing such concern is directly to the President, behind closed doors - NOT in a public vote to be broadcast instantly worldwide. That is nothing short of "aid and comfort to the enemy," and we are not talking here about an issue with a crisis buffer. We are talking about America, Western Civilization, and the lives of every one of us on the (probably literal) chopping block here.

The job of Congress vis-a'-vis Iraq is to either support continued involvement there or shut it down. It is not the proper role of Congress to attempt micromanaging the role reserved to the Commander in Chief; advertising division and indecision to the enemy is contemptible and inexcusable in any case.

In context of the GOP: They were just trounced at the polls because the Republican base had had enough of RINO incumbents betraying every single significant element of Republicanism. In the immediate aftermath of that defeat the powers-that-be in the GOP snubbed relatively principled members such as Shadegg and Pence, instead appointing some of the worst old-boy network RINOs to key minority leadership positions. Like Trent Lott...(!)

Now it's back to business-as-usual: compromise on any and every issue; rolling over and exposing their bellies in meek submission to any Demo-Socialist who says "Boo!"; utter betrayal of principles at every turn.

They need to hear from the GOP base. Loudly.

Do it. I recommend phone calls rather than, or in addition to, emails - the voice of a livid constituent is far more difficult for a Congressional staffer to put off than an easily-deleted email.
